MWA+D to Exhibit at Grand Designs Live London 2026
MWA+D are delighted to announce that we will be exhibiting at Grand Designs Live, taking place at ExCeL London from 1–4 May 2026.
Grand Designs Live London, inspired by the popular Channel 4 series Grand Designs, is one of the UK’s leading exhibitions for architecture, self-build homes, home renovation, and contemporary house design. The event attracts homeowners, developers, and design enthusiasts looking for inspiration and expert advice on creating high-quality, bespoke homes.
At MWA+D, we design modern homes that balance innovation, elegance, and sustainability. From bespoke new builds to transformative extensions, our work is defined by carefully considered spaces and a commitment to exceptional residential design.
As a Surrey - based architectural practice, we work with clients across London and the South East on home extensions, new build houses, and high-end residential projects. Whether you are planning a self-build home, a contemporary extension, or a full house renovation, our team provides a tailored, design-led approach from concept through to completion.
Visitors to Grand Designs Live 2026 will have the opportunity to meet our architects in person, discuss their ideas, and gain expert insight into the design and planning process. If you are looking for an architect in London for a home extension or bespoke house design, we invite you to visit our stand and start a conversation about your project.
We look forward to welcoming you at Grand Designs Live London this May at stand A20.

MWA+D has been commissioned to carry out a feasibility study and planning submission for the conversion of a former chapel into a private residence. As part of the proposal, a new two-storey side extension is planned to enhance the building’s functionality. Additionally, a sunken garden is proposed at the rear and along the south side of the main structure.
We have completed initial volumetric studies to explore the optimal use of space while maintaining the integrity and expression of the original chapel form. MWA+D remains conscious of the challenges associated with chapel and church conversions, and we are committed to preserving the architectural character and fenestration of the building’s façades.

MWA+D has submitted a planning application for a residential project in Epsom, Surrey. This exciting proposal includes the removal of the existing roof and the installation of a new roof with an approximateley three meters higher ridgeline to match the neighbouring property. The new design aims to sit confidently within its context, offering a respectful and contemporary addition to the evolving architectural narrative of the area.

MWA+D has recently been engaged to design a new rear extension and to undertake an interior refurbishment of a 1930s semi-detached house in Clapham Common. Following the initial outline design assessment and discussions with the client, our design approach has been to respect the architectural typology of the building. The form of the rear extension is being developed in response to the traditional bay windows that are a characteristic feature of the surrounding houses and the local area.
